Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- 120g (1/2 cup) granulated sugar
- 120g (1 cup) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 50ml (1/4 cup) milk
- 50ml (1/4 cup) vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Prepare the Batter:
- Separate the egg whites and yolks into two bowls.
- Whisk the egg whites until foamy, then gradually add sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form.
- In the bowl with egg yolks, add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Combine Ingredients:
- Sift the flour and baking powder into the egg yolk mixture. Mix until smooth.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture in batches, being careful not to deflate the batter.
- Prepare the Rice Cooker:
- Lightly grease the inner pot of the rice cooker with oil or butter. Pour the batter into the pot and tap it lightly to remove air bubbles.
- Cook the Cake:
- Set the rice cooker to the “Cook” function. If it switches to “Warm,” wait for a few minutes, then press “Cook” again.
- Cook for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the cake cool slightly before removing it from the rice cooker.
- Slice and enjoy your homemade sponge cake!
